Daniusoft Media Converter Reviewed @ TiltMobility
http://tiltmobility.com/2008/11/daniusoft-media-converter/
Hello, Hello! It’s Friday, and it’s been quite while since I’ve taken a look at any media conversion programs, so, as you can see by the title up there, today I’m taking a look at Daniusoft Media Converter. The program is quick to convert as it does utilize quad core CPUs, and it’s easy to use, it’s a bit on the expensive side, but it does also convert media, and remove DRM. What the legalities are there I’m not to sure, but I just review ‘em, that’s what I know and do…

Title: TuneClone Audio Converter Software Reviewed @ DragonSteelMods.com
Review Link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10186&Itemid=1
Review Snipit:
“So there are a few free versions out there that will help my friend out, but I needed something that was easy to use, very easy to use and I found TuneClone, which is very easy to use so that’s what I’ve got for review today. TuneClone is a program to convert you iTunes or other music services music over to mp3 format, quickly and easily. It essentially creates a virtual CDRW drive on your computer and virtually burns the CD from the main program, iTunes of other and then TuneClone automatically rips it to mp3 format for you, so in a few easy steps you’ve got music that is easily transferred and played on any device. “

AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 4830 512M
Link:

Brief:
Today AMD launches their new HD 4830 Series. The cards come with a reduced shader count of 640 and lower clocks to fit into the $100 to $150 segment. In our testing we saw amazing overclocking of over 30% which should bring the card much closee to more expensive solutions.

Anyway, today I’ve got another freebie video converter for you, this one though is a bit more than a video conversion tool, it does have some other features as well, like audio conversion and built in CamStudio that allows you to capture things you’re doing on your computer to video, like games, presentations or whatever…
If you didn’t figure it out by the title of this post the software is called ‘QMC’ or Quick Media Converter, it’s from Cocoonsoftware and the best part ,as I mentioned, its that it’s totally free! Free is nice yes, but is it worthwhile though? Or would you be better of with a pay software program? That’s what I intend to tell you about, so continue on…

* Title: Acronis True Image Echo Workstation report @ APH Networks
* Description: Ever since the introduction of larger capacity hard drives,
activities like dual-booting, partitioning, storing your life on it, and the
such have grown much more popular with even the mainstream crowd. With the
never-ending growth of size of today’s hard drives, and the increased
reliance of computers and the data stored in it, there seems to be a need to
manage the drives and take care of the data. Backup? Well, make it fast, and
make it easy, and make it network-ready. Make it able to be restored on any
computer. Add some disk management functions so I can clone my disk to
another. Make it…
Then why do you need Acronis? Well, Acronis’ True Image Echo Workstation
reaches beyond the home and into even workstations around the globe. And
besides being just a backup solution, it now manages hard disks and its data
to a certain level — such as disk conversions, streamlining the addition of
new drives, disk cloning, advanced networking capabilities in a corporate (Or
uber enthusiast) environment. It also promises to deliver a strong portfolio
of features, high performance, and ease of use. Deal? Let’s see how it goes.

How many pictures does the average Joe or Jane have on their computer? With the ease of use and availability of today’s digital cameras, people are snapping and storing like there’s no tomorrow. You can easily fill up a hard drive in no time with pictures of your family, friends, vacation, wedding, the honeymoon. Well, maybe not the honeymoon. But if you do, please send me an example.
Verbatim has created the PhotoSave DVD. Verbatim?s PhotoSave DVD allows you to quickly backup and archive up to 2,000* photos stored on your PC or digital camera.

Hey guys and gals, I’m back with another installment in my series on video conversion programs to be used to transfer your movies to the Tilt!
This week I’ve got an ‘official’ review, the folks over at Wondershare emailed me and asked me to check out their video conversion software, this isn’t a DVD ripper but just for converting your already existing videos to a format compatible with your Tilt or other phones of course.
Wondershare Video Convertor Platinum can convert to many formats and not just to PPC, so it’s actually a very useful program for any of your video conversion needs.

So today I’m taking a look at Extra Video Converter, which doesn’t rip DVDs, it converts your already ripped movies or other video files over to many formats including PPC, which of course is why we’re interested in it..
The program works great and it works fast, it’s a bit on the expensive side though compared to other programs like this, but it might be worth it actually since it can convert to many popular formats and the fact that it’s very easy to use.

Ok, so continuing my little series of video processing tools, today I’ve got SPB Mobile DVD up on the testing block. Many of you have suggested that I check it out and Doug was kind enough to contact them for me and get me an evaluation copy.
SPB Mobile DVD is fast and it works, I converted Stargate to both AVI and WMV formats and it worked flawlessly both times. Audio was in sync with the video, the overall size was nice and small and the quality was pretty good, at least for the WMV version…
So continue on to learn more about SPB Mobile DVD…

I4U NEWS published a review of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Professional.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are looking at the latest version of Nuance’s dictation software called Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. If you are looking to get your work done faster with less typing, this application is worth a look.
I admit I’m not totally ready to give up my keyboard, for some applications — like the content management systems on our website — voice commands don’t work well. Another issue for some users will be the price — the professional version I’m testing sells for over $800. However, the standard version sells for only $99 and offers much the same functionality.”

And here again another week has gone by, so that means it’s time to take a look at another program that is supposed to help you take your videos with you on the go.
This week I have Extra DVD Ripper Express and it does have some nice features, it’s
easy to use, but the end product is junk, the final ripped and converted movie is way out of sync to the point it is un-viewable. Some movies that are out of sync aren’t too bad, maybe annoying at times but the final product of Extra DVD Ripper Express is so out of sync… I’m sure you’ve all seen the old Godzilla movies or other Japanese with English voice overs where their lips move and the audio just doesn’t match the lips. Well the end product of Extra DVD Ripper Express is a lot worse than that, to the point where people are talking in the audio but the characters aren’t, or a male talks but yet a female character is moving her lips.. Kinda funny for a few seconds, but not worth much in the end.
But continue on to see some screen shots, and a bit more information, but I’m not getting too in depth with a product that basically doesn’t work…

For Windows PC maintenance, the defrag tool is an important component of the PC users armamentarium. Defragging keeps data files properly organized and allows programs to run quicker and efficiently. Windows comes with a built in defragmenter, but it only runs manually or on a timed schedule. While it gets the job done, there are better products out on the market. One of the most highly touted comes from the Diskeeper company. They are the makers of the aptly named Diskeeper 2008.
As hard drives become bigger, the possibility of fragmentation increases. Using innovative technologies that work behind the scenes, your hard drives will never succumb to fragmentation slow down with Diskeeper 2008 on duty. Some of these components have impressive names such as: InviTasking Technology, I-FAAST 2.0, Frag Shield 2.0. Today I will look at the Professional version of this degfragmenting software.
Let’s get started….

Continuing this little series of mine about DVD ripping and encoding software to take your movies with you, today I’ve got Aplus DVD Ripper Professional up on the testing block. Is it any good? Well not really honestly… In my time with it I’ve found it doesn’t quite work the way ‘I want it to’ and that’s what counts right? The end users needs are what should be taken into consideration above all else.
I ran the program three times to convert my movie to PPC format, all three times I ran into problems and virtually an un-viewable end product. After three tries I figured I wasted more than enough of my time with this product and it was time to move on to something else… but continue on to check it out and see exactly why I would avoid this product..

Ok, So I’ve had Winterface for a few weeks now installed on my Tilt, in that time I’ve iconstarted to write this review a couple times, but since I’ve gotten it Vito Technology, the company that makes it has sent me two more updates, so I had to postpone the review a bit.
I started out with version 1.0, then got v1.01, now I’ve got v1.02 running on my cellphone.
A few changes have been made to the interface or Winterface since the initial release, mainly tweaks with the first version, then finally with v1.02 they added two new icons actually, a Network name/strength icon and a Bluetooth on/off icon.
The problems that were mentioned before are mostly not there anymore with the revisions, but the bug with the Battery icon leading to ’sliding sounds’ is still there, that is an HTC TyTn II / ATT Tilt specific problem and I am working with them to fix it. They sent me a little program that analyzes what’s going on when I access the interface and spit out a file or report for me to send to them. The other small thing is not a problem but more of a preference, you still cannot wrap around with the interface, in other words at the home screen you cannot go left, only right and then back again, it won’t wrap around to the last page. With that in mind let’s continue on to the actual review, I’ve got a bunch of screen shots for you and a couple videos as well…

Briefing: Nowadays, not many people know how to really take care of their computer. Some assume that the computer looks after itself and that nothing will go wrong. Well after time, without any love or care your computer will slow down and stop doing the normal things that it used to be able to do without effort.

Introduced by NTI (NewTech Infosystems) the Media Maker 8 package has just about everything you need to capture, edit, burn and enjoy music, photos and videos. We enjoyed using the companys CD & DVD Maker which has been one of the most reliable, versatile disc burning packages weve found so getting the more robust suite seemed like a sure thing.
First thing you notice when you open the suite is that there is nothing intimidating about the NTI product. The opening user interface screen is so unintimidating you feel youre going to have a great user experienceand you will.

“Winamp is an extremely popular, fast, and flexible media player for Windows. The software - which is available for free and as the $19.99 Pro version - supports pretty much every major audio and video file you can through at it, and it can be skinned for a completely new look and feel. Indeed, Winamp supports more than 10000 interface skins, 300 visualisation plug-ins and CDDB support for automatic CD audio title listing, making it the most customisable media manger on the planet. One word of warning: pay attention during the install, as Winamp will install several promotional utilities unless they are unchecked from the list.”

* Title: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 @ APH Networks
* Description: The affordability of digital cameras and SD cards and widespread distribution of tutorials and techniques of photography have transformed many crowds of consumers into amateur digital photographers. They buy 16GB SDHC cards to store the memories. They read the tutorials and techniques for taking good pictures. And they know that post-processing matters in photography. Sadly, they also realize that learning how to use a full blown version of Adobe Photoshop would take up a lot of their time and resources just for a few features that they’d probably need. Not to mention that the professional Adobe Photoshop version, in terms of costs, is out of range of most consumers. Adobe actually saw this trend and created a product just for the amateur photographers: I’m talking about Adobe Photoshop Elements — for simplicity in use and attractive pricing for consumer amateur photographers. Released in 2001 alongside Photoshop 7.0, Elements remains an important part of Adobe’s Photoshop line. It’s evolved through five stages to get to this version we have in our hands - Adobe Photoshop Elements 6, which was bundled with Adobe Premiere Elements 4.
