Title: Samsung T240 LCD Monitor Review at Overclockers Online
Link: http://www.overclockersonline.net/?page=articles&num=2051
Quote: For a monitor at this price point and with such a robust set of
specifications, a basic swivel stand just does not cut it. Now, for if
I were to conclude in such a manner, more than a few e-mails would end
up in my inbox wondering, how, with such scorn for the stand, did the
T240 win me over? The screen itself produced brilliant colors, the lines
are sharp, it is vibrant, it keeps ahead of fast paced action movies,
games and the unit itself is beautifully sculpted. For what the T240
offers, I know I can live without a fancy stand.

Title:
Mitsubishi LaserVue 65″ HDTV World Premiere @ TheTechLounge
Quote:
“Yesterday afternoon, Kurtis and I got the chance to check out the World Premiere of Mitsubishi’s new “LaserVue” HDTV at San Antonio’s high-end audio/video emporium, Bjorn’s. The folks from Mitsubishi were kind enough to take the time to give us a grand tour and explain the details about what makes this new tech so special. I read up on the technology a few months back, but since I wasn’t at CES 2008, I’d never seen the prototypes in action. Well, now I’ve done one better, since Mitsubishi brought their only two production models in existence to Bjorn’s for this World Premiere event. And you’re in luck, because I’m gonna tell you all about it.”

Link: http://www.rbmods.com/Articles/Geeks/22_hp_lcd/1.php
Quote: Today more and more change monitors to the latest LCD monitors on the market, even the 19 inch screens are soon to small as the people choose the bigger 22 and 24 inch monitors to have enough work area. Geeks has a huge selection of various LCD screens and today we are going to look at a Debranded HP monitor that comes at a very afordable price as I see it. The question is though; will it work for fast FPS games and normal usage though?

Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/headplay-personal-cinema-system/
Review Snipit:
“Not long ago I took a look at the Vuzix personal media system, and I found it to be decent but lacking a bit in some areas, today for review though I’ve got the HeadPlay Personal Cinema System and it picks up where the Vuzix leaves off in a couple areas. In my time with the HeadPlay I’ve found it is a much better system all around with some great added features as well. ”

Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/vuzix-iwear-av920-review/
Review Snipit:
“Up on the review block today is an interesting accessory that can be used with basically anything with a video output, it allows you to have a personal theater experience that you can take with you. The product is from Vuzix and it’s the iWear AV920, it allows you to have the equivalent of a 62 inch screen for your own personal viewing pleasure. It’s basically a set of futuristic looking glasses with two LCDs screens inside, attached to the sides are also built in headphones. In my time with the iWear AV920 I’ve found it to be an interesting product to be sure, that does have its usefulness and some unique features that most people will appreciate. “

“Vuzix’s iWear VR920 ($399) is pitched as the world’s first fully immersive virtual reality video eyewear. Now I’m not sure if that means there are other virtual reality glasses on the market that aren’t ‘fully immersive’, but the VR920 certainly are a head trip. This PC and Mac-compatible eyewear is packed with technology that would leave the most ardent Star Trek geek baffled. Inside the plastic rims are progressive scan LCDs, a 32-degree field of view, head tracker, 3D support and a virtual 62-inch screen. The VR920 is a niche product aimed at hardcore gamers looking for the next buzz. Designed with the PC gaming and simulation in mind and using the same technology the U.S. Military employs, the VR920’s progressive scan LCDs display a 62-inch display at resolutions up to 1024×768. There’s also a built-in microphone for abusing your online buddies, and the headphones are adjustable (flexible stems can be bent and twisted to adjust to your particular needs or removed if you wish to use an alternate audio source) for getting the best sound quality.

InsideHW.com has posted review for Samsung SyncMaster 2053BW display. You can read a clip from review:
“Most of the 20inch monitors have similar dimensions, mostly thanks to short stand (part between base and panel itself). Because of that it is not easy to achieve ergonomically right height, if you don’t have worktable with raised stand or mount solution for monitor. Samsung 2053BW shares same faults with its competitors but it also has few advantages. Base has swivel option that allows this monitor to be rotated around vertical axis. Construction details cannot be discovered (it’s sealed in plastic casing) but we assume that it’s not that complicated and expensive solution.…”

TITLE: Acer AL2002W 20-Inch WS LCD Monitor @ Benchmark Reviews
DESCRIPTION: High resolution LCD monitors are everywhere in today’s market. Seems that every PC manufacturer these days includes one with their offerings and usually has some decent upgrade offerings for better and larger models at rather reasonable extra cost. As prices are dropping, it is almost crazy to think that anyone in the market for a monitor wouldn’t be looking for a nice flat panel LCD monitor like the Acer AL2002W 20″ wide screen monitor. Here at Benchmark Reviews, we are going to take a look at this budget minded monitor.

Title: All you need to know about LCD monitors
Link: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/87
Category: Tutorials
Summary:
All the basic features of LCD video monitors you need to know before buying one.
Here is a snippet:
“Liquid-crystal displays (LCD), in the past restricted to notebooks, are now a reality for desktops. The three greatest advantages of this type of video monitor compared to traditional tube-based monitors (a.k.a. CRT, Cathode Ray Tube) are the use of less space on the desk (especially 17″ models or bigger), less power consumption and 100% flicker-free, even with a refresh rate of only 60 frames per second (60 Hz). In this tutorial we will explain everything you need to know to make the right choice when buying a new LCD monitor.”

Title: Acer P243WAid 24″ LCD @ Phoronix
Direct Link: http://www.phoronix.com/vr.php?view=12631
Summary: “In the past we have looked at several different Acer LCDs and generally have been quite pleased with them. Acer offers LCD panels that range from cost-effective 17″ models to higher-end models that are much larger and offer additional features such as a metal stand, integrated audio, and HDMI. For those that are interested in a large high-resolution screen with HDMI support and a fast response time, but that isn’t too expensive, Acer has the P243WAid. The Acer P243WAid is a 24″ LCD that fits these traits and sells for about $390 USD, but it lacks some extra features such as height and pivot adjustments.”

The Nintendo Wii is one of the most innovative console systems in recent memory. It has become incredibly popular with all age groups due to the motion sensing ability of the controllers. Unfortunately, one risk in using these controllers is the possibility of them flying out of one’s hands and hitting other people or objects. Although they do come with a safety strap, some people eschew them while playing the Wii. Combine this situation and the increased number of LCD and Plasma TVs found in todays households, this creates a recipe for disaster. A smashed display can truly be a devastating scenario.
Unfortunately for one person, James Mieczkowski of the Cheetah Websites Corporation, this exact scenario occurred when his seven-year-old smashed a hole in his new $2,500 LG Flat Screen with a Wii remote.
Luckily for the rest of us, he decided to design a product to protect most sized LCD/Plasma TVs from the scourge of flying Wiimotes. Using an ultra high strength acrylic that is nearly indestructible, he created the Cheetah Screen Protector. Composed of ¼” Plexiglas and elevated away from the television screen with ¼” rubber spacers, the Cheetah Screen Protector provides a ½” buffer between the outside world and your HDTV.
Available in sizes from 22” to 52”, there should be a model that fits most mainstream consumer HDTVs. TvScreenProtector.com even has specially designed protectors for 46” to 52” Sony XBR models.
As a Wii owner and father of two little children, I become very anxious when they decide to play the Wii in front of our LCD HDTV. Today, we will see if the Cheetah Screen Protector can provide some peace of mind and not negatively affect the HDTV viewing experience.
Let’s get started….

“Sony’s VPL-EX50 delivers consistently bright images of up to 2500 ANSI lumens. Colours aren’t as rich as a good home theatre projector, but the VPL-EX50 isn’t designed for DVD and Blu-Ray playback (4:3 native aspect ratio and 900:1 contrast ratio aren’t great assets). Sharpness is fantastic, and its features are well conceived, making the VPL-EX50 an excellent projector for use in small to medium-sized venues. The front-inclined design helps achieves optimal image placement, and a short throw distance is perfect if space is limited. As a bonus, the new E-series projector is also easy to maintain, with a long-life filter that is timed to coincide with when the lamp needs to be replaced (around 3000 hours), reducing the number of maintenance sessions required.”

“The PCTV nanoStick is great value for money if you’re looking for the smallest USB digital TV tuner on the market. But similar to other Pinnacle TV tuners we had a nightmare scanning for TV channels using the supplied antenna. Internet radio quality was quick and easy. After quickly glancing through Pinnacle’s forums, it seems a lot of other users have problems scanning for channels - regardless of reception area. When we gave up and connected a rooftop aerial, video quality was good - even at full screen - and the added benefit of being able to trim videos and burn them onto DVD means you can watch recorded programs on the big screen once you get back to the comfort of your living room. Advanced users not needing to compromise on size should look at Pinnacle’s PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick, which sports twin digital TV tuners so you can watch one channel while recording another or record two different channels at once. Overall, the PCTV nanoStick is an attractive package considering its size and price, but it comes with a serious caveat: you need to get the aerial in just the right position to work perfectly on all channels – or just ditch it and use a proper indoor aerial to get the best signal every time. But that’s defeating the object, of course.”

“Let’s cut to the chase. BenQ’s G2400W is a no-frills 24-incher that can hardly be called attractive. But it covers most bases in terms of features and costs less than £250. It delivers good image quality thanks to impressive colour separation and greyscale reproduction. Text is clear too, and games perform effortlessly - only the more discerning will notice and be bothered by its deficiencies, If you’re looking for a good all-rounder and your pockets aren’t deep enough for Dell’s UltraSharp 2408WFP, the G2400W will more than satisfy. Just bear in mind that it doesn’t swivel, nor can you adjust the monitor’s height, so you’ll need to improvise to get it sitting at the right height on your desk. It’s also not possible to pivot it into a portrait orientation, either, but it can be tilted backwards and forwards.”

TITLE: SOYO 26-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor DYLM26E6 @ Benchmark Reviews
DESCRIPTION: Benchmark Reviews has tested several different monitors over the past year, and even though they all offer nearly the same features there still seems to be a high premium paid for some names. Not SOYO. Last year we reviewed the 24-Inch DYLM24D6, which was an extremely popular widescreen monitor that could be purchased for less than $300. That was over a year ago, and so as you can imagine prices have come down a but since then. Today we get to offer another excellent value: SOYO 26-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor MT-NI-DYLM26E6. Presently this monitor is available for only $379.99, which is an unbelievable price for any 26″ widescreen LCD that can produce 1920×1200 WUXGA resolution.
