I4U NEWS published a review of the new Spore Origins for iPhone video game.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are checking out the new iPhone game called Spore Origins. The game has great graphics and fantastic controls. Fans of Spore on the PC will want to add the Spore Origins mobile game to their portable device.
At the beginning of the game, the only customization you can make to your creature is the color of the skin. One interesting options is that you can take pictures from your album or take a picture with the iPhone camera and use it as the skin of your creature.”

This article explains why the iPhone port of Myst will be successful in areas where other portable consoles have failed.
Title:
Myst already available for PSP and DS, why bother with the iPhone port?
Link:
http://osxreality.com/2008/08/24/myst-already-available-for-psp-and-ds-why-bother-with-the-iphone-port/
Quote:
“Since its initial release Myst has been ported to multiple platforms, such as Windows, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS. Although the game enjoyed great success on PC, scoring a respectable 90% on Game Rankings, the same can’t be said of the handheld ports, scoring 56%/53% on the PSP/DS respectively, which raises the question, where did the PSP/DS go wrong, and will the iPhone be doomed to the same fate?”

One of missing features from the iPhone 2G and 3G is the ability to perform Bluetooth Stereo playback; Why Apple does not allow the A2DP protocol to operate on the iPhone remains a mystery, who would not enjoy listening to music without the ever present headphone wire getting in the way? To remedy this situation, the good folks at Brando have the Infinxx AP23 Stereo Bluetooth transmitter.
This amazing device plugs into the iPhone/iPod dock connector and allows stereo playback over Bluetooth enabled stereo speakers or headphones. The AP23 does not require charging as it runs off the iPod/iPhones native power, although this may present a problem for the already sketchy battery life found on the iPhone 3G.
Today we will see if the AP23 can rock out wirelessly. Whether you own and iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone, this may be the wireless solution for you. Let’s get started…….

I4U NEWS published a review of the Griffin Wave for iPhone Case.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are going to look at a very nice case of the iPhone that is also available for the new iPhone 3G. The case is called the Griffin Wave for iPhone. Several colors are available and the case protects the screen and leaves all the controls easily accessible.
The edges of the case are beveled so that they are comfortable against your ear and face when the phone is in use. When the Griffin Wave for iPhone is installed, it does add a bit of bulk to the phone, but not much. Obviously, you can no longer place the phone into the docking cradle when the case is on, but the sync/charge cable itself fits with the case installed without any issues.”

I4U NEWS published a review of the Labyrinth Lite Edition for iPhone.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are looking at a great free application for the iPhone called Labyrinth Lite Edition. The lite version of the game has ten levels to play. The controls for the game are the star of the show and work very well.
To control the ball you tilt the iPhone in all directions. The controls are simply fantastic and are so accurate that you can place the ball with ease on the screen. The settings menu of the game has a spot for calibrating the game to the sensors in the iPhone. You set the iPhone on a flat surface, press calibrate, and you are done.”

Most tech products need to evolve or lose their place in the market, Palm is one well know company that has
suffered because of their lack of innovation. Products usually evolve, make significant changes for the better or make incremental improvements over previous generations, the newest iPhone dubbed the iPhone 3G is not an evolutionary upgrade but more of an incremental one. This does not mean that it is not a worthwhile upgrade.
Steve Jobs and Apple’s modus operandi is not to put all the bells and whistles in the 1st or 2nd generations of their products. Instead, they slowly include them through software/firmware updates and model revisions. The iPhone 3G primary goal is to address the wireless data speed that was severely crippled on the first iPhone because it relied on the slower EDGE data network. The newest model is named after the faster wireless network that it uses.
As per the wikipedia entry on 3G: “It is often suggested by industry sources that 3G can be expected to provide 384 kbit/s at or below pedestrian speeds, but only 128 kbit/s in a moving car.” These speeds are closer to DSL than dial up which the first iPhone clearly ran on.
Besides the speed upgrade in using 3G, the iPhone 3G also has true built in GPS. Do these two features warrant upgrading from your original iPhone?
Today I will look at the iPhone 3G and compare it to its predecessor.

I4U NEWS published a review of the free iPhone game Aurora Feint The Beginning.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are taking a look at a fantastic game for the iPhone called Aurora Feint The Beginning. The game is one of the free iPhone Apps you can get from the iTunes App Store. If this game was something you paid for it would be worth the money.
Aurora Feint The Beginning is a fantastic video game and I would have gladly paid money for it. The game makes great and innovative use of the accelerometer inside the iPhone to take puzzle games and turn them upside down (and side to side). The game at first glance looks a lot like Bejeweled that you might have played on the PC, but offers so much more.”
