Title: Mechanic Master DS Lite @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/mechanic-master-ds-lite/
Review Snipit:
“Puzzle games are simple to play, addictive and can be picked up quickly and put down easily. That is why games such as Tetris and Bejeweled are cell phone staples. The Nintendo DS platform is great for puzzle games due to its dual screen and touch interface. Midway decided to take advantage of this design with its latest puzzler – Mechanic Master. “

Title: Gears of War 2 Xbox360 Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/gears-of-war-2-xbox360-review/
Review Snipit:
“Playing Gears of War 2 feels like seeing an old friend. The game play is very similar with the control scheme unchanged for the most part. Of course, there are plenty of new weapons and enemies to encounter. Graphically the game looks spectacular in high definition. In some games cut scenes look much better than the game play, however, in Gears of War 2, that is not the case. The game play is set in darker color tones of browns and grays, giving the games environment a war torn appearance. “

Title: Fallout 3 PC Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/fallout-3-pc-review/
Review Snipit:
” Fallout3 is set in the far future after the world has basically ended due to the usual things, greed, power, and nuclear war, eventually I’m sure it will end this way, so it might be a peek into our own futures… Seriously though Fallout3 is a magnificent game in visuals, actual gameplay and storyline, it’s a bloody, gory romp through the post-apocalyptic wastelands that will keep you coming back for more. “

Title: Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 PC Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/command-and-conquer-red-alert-3-pc-review/
Review Snipit:
“It’s been a while since we’ve seen a Red Alert game from EA, and for Red Alert 3 they’ve pulled out all of the stops creating a game that isn’t just pleasing on the eyes, in more ways that one, but lots of fun as well. EA called upon several big names to participate including David Hasselhoff, George Takei, Tim Curry, Gemma Atkinson, and Jenny McCarthy, just to name a few of them, to start in the game and help promote it. The main eye candy factor is obvious, but the other of course is the game itself, it features excellent graphics for an RTS game, and great gameplay overall. You start the game playing as the Soviets, or at least it’s suggested you do, there are three factions to play, the Soviets, the Allies and the Empire of the Rising Sun. All feature different aspects of play including varying types of vehicles, special weapons and deployment types. It’s all essentially the same storyline played from three different viewpoints, and even though it’s similar, it’s a totally different experience with each one. “

itle: Far Cry 2 PC Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/far-cry-2-pc-review/
Review Snipit:
“Far Cry 2 is a visually stunning and action oriented masterpiece of a game that any gun loving geek will be thrilled to spend hours at a clip playing. The visuals and graphics are nothing short of amazing, you can easily just get lost driving around Africa looking at the sights and admiring the scenery, from the rocks, trees and water, to how the sun shines through those same trees. The wide open, free roaming nature of Far Cry 2 tends to allow the player a lot of freedom when it comes to how to play the game, most likely everyone will have a different experience with it. If you don’t have a mission you can just drive around and explore a bit, and maybe shoot a few people along the way, this style of gameplay leads to a game that could last forever really. “

Title: Crash Bandicoot Mind Over Mutant PS2 Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/crash-bandicoot-mind-over-mutant-ps2-review/
Review Snipit:
“In the latest Bandicoot adventure we see him up against his arch nemesis Neo Cortex, who’s devised yet another fiendish, and dastardly devilish, evil scientist plan to take over the world. This time he’s using basically a brain control device to turn the denizens of Wampu island into his unwitting pawns, and of course they fall for it through Neo’s clever use of infomercials. So it’s up to our friendly neighborhood bandicoot to come save the day once again, this time though he’s got some special tricks up his sleeve, or should I say in his pockets. Crash has the ability to ‘jack’ monsters, or take control of them to do his bidding to help him fight Neo Cortex and his hordes of henchmen. When Crash doesn’t need the monster he puts it in his pocket for later use, Crash and his monsters can be upgraded as well by collecting jewels, or Mojo. “

Penny Arcade Review - Episode 2
Date: 11-16-2008 By Vlad Mihaiescu
On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness – Episode Two is an RPG based around the comic book look. Everything in the game is extremely cartoonish, and the game itself plays like the traditional turn-based RPGs. Personally, I’m getting tired and bored with the overabundance of button mashing RPGs (Final Fantasy Crisis Core being a good example) so I was extremely pleased with what I saw in Episode Two. The game was fun to play from every aspect of gameplay. The story was good, the characters had wit and personality, the gameplay was extremely smooth, easy to learn, and not even that hard to master. The sound, even though a bit lacking was still better than some of the full priced RPGs out there, and the graphics, even though very cartoonish in nature, managed to give this game a unique and original look.

Call of Duty: World at War performance in-depth
http://www.techspot.com/article/128-call-of-duty-5-gpu-performance/
Considering the high expectations built around Call of Duty: World at War it will be interesting to see how the game stacks up against other competing shooters, but perhaps most importantly how it compares or improves upon last year’s Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which was an all-around success on the PC platform.
‘World at War’ was built using an enhanced version of the CoD 4 engine which should come as great news for PC gamers. Not only do we expect this game to look really good because of that, but it should also fair quite well on systems with modest specifications. Unlike Crysis and a few other visually stunning games, Call of Duty 4 wasn’t able to bring a high-end system to its knees, and believe us that was a good thing.
Call of Duty: World at War certainly shapes up to be one of the most exciting installments on the series yet, and now we must find out how it will run on your computer…

Title: Dead Space PC Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/dead-space-pc-review/
Review Snipit:
“Dead Space redefines the survival horror genre with a storyline that is full of suspense, intrigue and surprises. Gameplay is well done, though I don’t particularly care for the third-person view, I would have rather had first person, but it works well for this game. Graphics are spectacular overall, very nicely done and fairly realistic as well. Dead Space wasn’t exactly what I would call scary, but it is a gory and hellish bloodfest of carnage and death that will make any horror fan ecstatic with glee. “

Title: LEGO Batman: The Videogame PS3 Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/lego-batman-the-videogame/
Review Snipit:
“In this version, Batman faces his biggest nightmare ever, the jailbreak from Arkham Asylum of every known villain from the Batman universe. Traveller’s Tales has brought the comic book sensibilities of the 70’s version of Batman, added the classic scoring of Danny Elfman distinct music from the Tim Burton interpretation and mixed it together with breakable blocks! “

Link: http://www.technic3d.com/article-751,1-brothers-in-arms-hell-s-highway-himmel-oder-hoelle.htm
Quote: “Brothers in Arms - Hell’s Highway PC Game from UbiSoft arrived Technic3D. Operation Market Garden was a real-life Allied offensive designed to destroy Nazi Germany before Christmas, 1944. The plan was ambitious - it was largest airborne invasion in the history of the world. The plan was to capture a corridor through Holland to punch through the German lines. Paratroopers of the 101st Airborne and other divisions dropped from the sky in mid-September to seize and hold the corridor by surprise. The surprise attack was a bust. Follow Matt Baker, Joe Hartsock and the rest of the 101st Airborne Division in “Operation Market-Garden” as they fight to open famous “Hell’s Highway” in a daring bid for a quick end to the war. Better than the Version Earned in Blood, Road to Hill 30, Double Time, War Stories or D-Day? See you in the following Review.”

Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/crysis-warhead-reviewed/
Review Snipit:
“Crysis Warhead is probably one of the most anticipated games of 2007, ever since the success of Crysis, fans have been patiently awaiting a release of a sequel. So, Crysis Warhead was released, but it’s not really a sequel, as much as part of the original story, just played from a different point of view. “

Title: Speed Racer: The Videogame PS2 Review @ TestFreaks.com
Review Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/speed-racer-the-videogame-ps2-review/
Review Snipit:
“Most movie based video games really aren’t that good, but Speed Racer The Videogame does a great job at bringing the sights, sounds, action and even the overall feel of the Wachowskis movie to your little screen for you to be part of the action. Speed Racer the Videogame takes place after the events in the movie, so it’s sort of a continuation, but not really, as there’s no real story to the game just racing. ”

“Back in the eighties, I was known to play a mean air guitar to some of hair metal’s finest anthems. Luckily for myself and my loved ones, I gave up my budding air guitar career. Until, now….. Harmonix and EA, the makers of the original Rock Band video game, have unleashed their latest version of the rhythm game genre – Rock Band 2. “

Two Worlds Epic Edition - PC Review
Date: 09-22-2008 By VladWhen it comes to sound, Two Worlds - Epic Edition is adequate. The same can be said about the graphics. So if you’re only interested in the latest releases of eye candy, this game (even with its epic edition) will not satisfy you. This game does however have a couple of tricks up its sleeves. First of all, the story was not bad at all. It is the traditional RPG genre of good vs. evil, but than again, what isn’t? For anything to be successful there has to be a protagonist and an antagonist. But the most important reason why you should consider this game is the multiplayer aspect.

EVE Online-PC Review
Date: 09-19-2008 By Benjamin Sun At the end of the day is EVE Online a fun engaging game that holds one’s attention? It really depends on the type of player you are. If you like point and click space combat games that have a lot of multiplayer aspects including forming your own Corporation, controlling sectors of space and have the extra time to put into the game, EVE Online is the type of game for you. If you get bored of that type of game then I would suggest looking elsewhere. In any event, EVE Online has a free 14-day Trial membership that doesn’t require a credit card so you can try it. That is one advantage that EVE Online has over games of a single player variety, the ability to try out the full game for no cost and see if you like it.

Mercenaries 2 World In Flames PC Review
Date: 09-17-2008 By Vlad If you try to hold out for just a few games a year, do yourself a favor and keep away from this one. Mercenaries 2 is a fun game, but it is a game that will be quickly forgotten. Honestly, while fun to play for a while, I already caught myself putting off this review to play other games. Yes, I will have this game installed on my system for a while, but playing it is another story. I’m probably one of the few people to run across this game and not be impressed, but then again, I’m not on EA’s payroll. Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is at best a time-filler. A time filler I like, but a video game that I can’t take serious. To me, this is fun entertainment until something good actually comes along. Sorry guys; but I can’t force myself to give this game a good score. Decent is about the only favor I can hand out.
