Cooler Master HAF 932 Case Review @ Ninjalane

October 9th, 2008 by Kristofer

Ninjalane has just posted their review of the new super case from Cooler Master the HAF 932. This is one of the few pre-mods that we can actually endorse, and that’s saying a lot.

Subject: Cooler Master HAF 932 Case Review @ Ninjalane
URL: http://www.ninjalane.com/display.aspx?docname=haf932

Quote: First Impressions are the lasting ones. Still you cannot always judge a book by its cover, and the Cooler Master HAF 932 is one of these situations. Most people will either love the look, or just down right hate it. Still once you get past the “Mad Max” aesthetics of hardline cages and mesh over every opening you will begin to start respecting what the HAF 932 has to offer including the incredible airflow from 3 x 230mm fans and 1 x 140mm fan on the rear.

Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Case Review @ OCIA.net

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

OCIA.net has posted their review of the Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Case.  Below is a direct quote from the review:
Such begins the introduction for Cooler Master’s latest full tower design, the HAF 932. HAF stands for High Air Flow, which seems to be the driving force behind this case structure, with three 230mm fans plus another 140mm fan pre-installed. The entire front of the chassis consists of open mesh from top to bottom, and additional use of large openings in the side, top and rear.

Antec Mini P180 mATX Computer Case @ Benchmark Reviews

September 29th, 2008 by Kristofer

TITLE: Antec Mini P180 mATX Computer Case @ Benchmark Reviews

DESCRIPTION: The Antec Mini P180 is a mini tower case that builds on the designs of the original P180 and P182, and puts those lessons to work in a smaller format. The smaller format comes at a price; only microATX motherboards are supported, but is that much of a penalty in the intended market segment? Benchmark Reviews is going to look at a computer case new offering from Antec that is aimed at a narrower market niche than most of their other products.

Antec MicroFusion 350 Remote Review @ NordicHardware

September 25th, 2008 by Kristofer

Antec MicroFusion 350 Remote is a part of the Antec Veris multimedia series. It is specially designed for HTPCs, also known as Media Center PCs. This version is a slightly updated version of the MicroFusion 350, where the biggest difference is the Veris remote. We decided to look at the MicroFusion 350 Remote and see if it has what it takes to compete on the HTPC market, which comes with higher expectations and requirements than most other.

Quote:
“An HTPC has to be clean and stylish, with many outputs for audio and video. The latter is of course largely reliant on the hardware you put in there, but there are still a certain amount of connectors that the case should have. Antec Veris MicroFusion 350 Remote is the very latest microATX HTPC case from Antec. It is an updated version of Veris MicroFusion 350, now with a Remote.”

X-Gene HTPC Case Review @ OCModShop.com

September 15th, 2008 by Kristofer

Sometimes I get those new hardware for review, and my first thought is what the Hell?. This is one of those times. I bring to you the X-Gen HTPC Mid Case. I was so wary of this case, I didn’t even have a witty story to go with it. I don’t like the models that lay flat. They remind me too much of the old Tandys. They look way too nostalgic to be interpreted as an aggressive machine. So I put it to the back of the line so I didn’t have to write about it until all the other stuff was out of the way. Now, I know what you’re thinking. I’m a complete D-Bag. That’s okay, I’ve got other friends aside from you.

Hiper Osiris Mid-Tower Enclosure

September 8th, 2008 by Kristofer

NEW CONTENT (Casing & Cooling) - Hiper Osiris Mid-Tower Enclosure

QUOTE: “Our topic of interest today will be one of their latest enclosure designs, the Osiris. Named after the ancient Egyptian god, the Osiris is an aluminum case with numerous features that the folks at Hiper think will make it a winner. To test this theory, we will install a system and see how well these features actually work, then look at cooling potential for a high-end system.

The Osiris comes in two color choices, silver and black. Our test model comes in flashing the lighter color choice and presents a very nice physical appearance. As noted in our introduction, it is a mid-tower design so does not give the impression of wanting to need a room for itself due to a large footprint.”

NZXT Guardian 921 Mid-Tower Case Review @ OCIA.net

August 30th, 2008 by Kristofer

OCIA.net has posted their review of the NZXT Guardian 921 Mid-Tower Case.  Below is a direct quote from the review:
NZXT has been building cases targeted for gamers and enthusiasts since 2004. Headquartered in Taiwan, NZXT’s company objective is to “provide every gamer with a case that they can identify with.” To this end NZXT offers two types of case designs, the more conservative Classic series, and the contemporary Crafted line. I’ve reviewed models from both in the past and I have to say I prefer the Classic series styling, however today I have for review the Guardian 921 which is the latest in their Crafted series.

Cooler Master HAF 932 Case Review

Cooler Master HAF 932 Case Review motherboards.org

Author: Ben sun Date: 08-22-2008

Innovations like three 230mm fans as standard, and a design geared to high airflow, the HAF 932 is worthy of my recommendation and an Editor’s Choice award. The only negatives I can find are the lack of a motherboard tray that is removable and the small negative of an all steel construction due to the fact that I prefer aluminum in my cases construction. The case is very solidly built and will likely outlast most of the system components that are put in it. Cooler Master’s HAF 932 case has many features found on much pricier cases including the IO area having both four USB 2.0 and external SATA ports. Thrasher2 our resident system builder liked the case so much he took it home to use in a personal system of his, and this over other cases we have here in the lab.

Lian-Li V1100 Black Case Review

August 20th, 2008 by Kristofer

Lian-Li V1100 Black Case Review motherboards.org

Author: Benjamin Sun Date: 08-20-2008

Lian Li cases are the best designed in the business and this is one of them. The V1100 Black has five 5.25″ drive bays, but more importantly, has the ability to install six HDDs. There are a total of four 120mm fans on the case, offering total cooling solution for any user with the caveat that tall CPU coolers will preclude the optimal use of the fans. Otherwise the case has the features, and looks to be well worth the price online. Quality cases are important for the hardware enthusiast as it determines what can be installed in the computer. This is a very stylish piece of equipment and it is very functional as well as being attractive to the eye. Its priced in the mid $200.00 range and is available online and at a few retail outlets.

GMC R2 Toast Case Review @ OCModShop

August 12th, 2008 by Kristofer

When you hop into a brand new GMC, you know you are getting all the power of a gas guzzling, four wheel drive behemoth that has sustained rednecks in their quest to get to their sister’s trailer for the last few decades. Oh… this isn’t that kind of GMC. Okay, I’ll start over. Sorry rednecks.

If there’s one thing nerds and geeks love to do with a new case, it’s destroy it and make something cooler out of it. But what if you had a case whose ROM drive popped up like toast? Yeah, I’d still mod it too, but wouldn’t that be cool? Introducing the GMC R-2 Toast. This thing cool looking on its own, but when you add in the little extras that GMC were generous enough to throw in, it’s actually pretty damned sweet.

Brief:
Akasa has taken the Mirage-62 case and has updated it using thick aluminum panels, adding air vents which also can be used for water cooling units and a stylish new front door. The mid-tower case features loads of space and some clever design choices to make it big enough for even the largest power supplies and longest graphics cards.
