Mobility Digest Review – Naztech Ultima 5 Horizontal Case

http://windowsmobile.mobilitydigest.com/mobility-digest-review-naztech-ultima-5-leather-horizontal-case/

In my continued quest for cases large enough to handle an extended battery Tilt2, I picked up a Naztech Ultima 5  Horizontal Case and it has turned out to be an almost perfect solution. As a point of information, I stretch (train) my cases using a block of wood cut slightly larger than my phone. The blocks stay in the cases when not in use, so they are always ready when I need them. I would rather my case be slightly loose than too tight.

This cooler doesn’t have a variable speed fan.  It is either on or off and this would be a big deal if the fan was noisy at full speed.  It isn’t.  The 23cm fan is very quiet and still provides decent cooling.  To liven things up, Thermaltake has included a switch that lets you turn the LEDs in the fan on or off as well. . .

Dell Streak Android Tablet Review:

When it comes to Android devices, there are two inevitabilities. The first is that its popularity is unstoppable. Twice as many Android smartphones are sold now than were only two months earlier. The second given is that an onslaught of Android tablets are about to descend upon us. Major manufacturers, such as Asus, LG, Motorola, and Samsung have their devices in the pipeline for later this summer, the fall, or early next year.

Choiix Power Fort Backup Battery Review @ Ninjalane

Talk time on your cell phone, or play time on a portable gaming console limit their effectiveness. While the battery life is designed to accommodate the majority of scenarios between charging you always find yourself holding back to conserve the battery life or running out of power when you might need it most.

China is full of massive companies that are privately owned. One of the biggest and most famous of these privately held companies is PC Partner. KitGuru wonders if that might change soon. Pension fund managers prepare your wallets for the possibility that PC Partner might float.

Cisco Valet Plus M20 Wireless Router Video Review

What happens when you get the networking experts from Linksys into the same room as the ease of use experts that produced the Flip UltraHD pocket camcorder? Well, it seems that this marriage has birthed its first offspring: the Valet line of routers from Cisco. Like with the Flip which is credited for making videos easy, the idea here is to provide wireless networking to people who may have otherwise been intimidated by the world of routers. In fact, the Cisco Valet Plus M20 that we’re reviewing today isn’t even called a router; it’s a wireless hotspot.

The Medis earphones have a very different design than most other earphones.  The design requires the pads to be selected to fit your ears or else they will not fit very well and be very uncomfortable.  The idea is pretty good as the earphone design pushes the sound toward your ear canal.  In reality, the Medis don’t work as well as I’d hoped – at least on my ears. . .

Quote: “When people think of manufacturers who make compact digital cameras, few will probably think of Samsung. Though recently, it seems Samsung has been building more photographic equipment, and been doing a great job of it too. The latest compact digital camera from Samsung to reach the market is the EX1. With its compact metal body, an impressive F1.8-2.4 optical zoom lens capable of 24mm at the wide-angle and an articulated screen, it looks like Samsung is serious about their cameras. There are many features of the Samsung EX1 that was unexpected but highly desirable, the impressive F1.8 aperture capabi lity, their high quality OLED articulated rear display and the ability to capture images in RAW (an uncompressed/lossless file format)."

Mobility Digest Review: RightWay Spotter Dale Jr. Edition 4.3" Touchscreen GPS

Today for review Geeks has sent me over another of their GPS Devices, this one though is bit special in that it’s a themed type with Dale Jr as its theme. Yes, it’s a Nascar themed GPS unit that comes with pictures and movies featuring Dale Jr and the GPS uses Dale’s voice to guide you along the way. If you don’t want his voice you can of course change it to one of the other selections. The unit itself is really a portable media player with GPS functionality, it can do movies, music, pictures and even e-books. As a GPS unit it works well really, except for having Dale’s voice guide you, that can be annoying…

Mobility Digest Review – Checklist v2.1

Looking for a finger friendly, easy to use app to manage pretty much any kind of list. Then Checklist is for you. While not what you would call "feature rich" I was immediately attracted to this app for it’s streamlined and simple interface. The app will work on any VGA or WVGA device and has been tested on WM 6.5.X devices, but my guess is it will also work on WM6.1.

Desktop PC Platform – Saved By Overclocking @ Benchmark Reviews

DESCRIPTION: The desktop hardware industry was made popular by knowledgeable members of the community willing to share their overclocking experience with others. Passionate hobbyists aligned with similar goals graciously helped eager learners to tweak hardware components until they performed like the next model in the series, but pre-tweaked enthusiast products were slowly driving down the number of people who qualify as overclockers. It’s not easy watching our hobby get dumbed-down to the point where the push of a button can replace years of trial-and-error experience. At some point, the real overclockers will return to save the desktop platform.

Mobility Digest Review: Airlink 101 AP671W 802.11N Access Point

Earlier this week, Exent launched its new GameTanium OnDemand service, combining the world’s largest PC games catalog, numerous merchandising features and a cutting-edge technology platform. The service has been launched on Verizon and will be rolling out at several other service providers before the end of 2010.

"We are thrilled to be launching GameTanium after all of the work that went into creating the market’s best platform for delivering games on demand," stated Christina Kuzma, CMO of Exent. "Exent’s years of experience with gaming platforms, content programming and distribution and consistent focus on the complete user experience have enabled us to launch the greatest gaming value in the world. Users gain access to the world’s largest library of PC games in consumption models that fit their needs – from subscription to purchase to ad-supported/free. Service providers gain an easy-to-integrate gaming service that builds revenue streams, customer loyalty and their brands. And game publishers gain access to the most profitable distribution channels for their games."

The first thing users notice when they encounter the GameTanium service is its unparalleled user interface (UI). The service’s UI captures the essence of touch-screen devices with its animated, fluid interface and unique, curved layout. It allows users to quickly spin to and find the games that appeal to their interests in Exent’s 1,800 game catalog without any pagination or the need to click "back" buttons. And with GameTanium’s progressive download technology, users can begin playing rich, graphic-intensive games even before they have finished downloading the games. With GameTanium, the time between considering what to play and actually playing is dramatically shortened.

GameTanium also delivers a rich community program that is already very popular with users. Once a user has created their profile, they can create an avatar, decorate their own 3D, animated Games Lounge with virtual items, and earn trophies and Prize Points while playing games in the service.

Even GameTanium’s less-flashy features add to the user experience by making it easier than ever to play. With a suite of subscription and purchase models – including the popular $14.99 monthly subscription enabling access to more than 1,800 games at less than a penny each – all integrated with service provider billing, gamers can access exactly what they want, how they want, whenever they want.

"The response to the addition of GameTanium to Verizon Games has been overwhelmingly positive," stated Jason Henderson, Games and Music Services Product Manager at Verizon. "We’ve received comments like, ‘I love being able to do everything from one screen,’ ‘It’s easy to navigate everything. This is an awesome development,’ and my personal favorite, ‘I love FiOS even more!’ With GameTanium, our customers are getting the same unparalleled customer experience from their PC games service as they do with Verizon’s TV, Internet and phone services."

The GameTanium service will be launched by several other service providers in the coming months. In addition, a new GameTanium syndication widget will be rolled out this fall. The new widget will give Web publishers an instant games solution for their websites without a major investment of time, money or other resources.
