Hello, humans. Today I’ve got a quick news roundup from the past two days. Not much else new to report, so have fun…
ASUS P7P55D-E PRO
http://techgage.com/article/asus_p7p55d-e_pro/
Last month, we published our look at one of ASUS’ popular P55 launch motherboards, the P7P55D PRO. Judging by model name alone, the board we’re taking a look at here doesn’t seem too different. In fact, the only difference from that perspective is the -E that’s been added. So what is the difference? The most notable is the addition of S-ATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 support, along with other additions that makes this more than just a revision.
Imation 64GB M-Class Solid State Drive
http://www.bigbruin.com/content/imation64gb_1
This review is going to take a look at a product from their solid state drive line. Their M-Class series of SSDs features drives with capacities of 64GB and 128GB that utilize multi-level cell (MLC) technology. Keeping track of their products is made easy, as their M-Class series drives are all MLC SSDs, and as the name may imply, their S-Class series of drives are all SLC (single-level cell) SSDs.
Patriot Memory’s Box Office HD Media Player Video Review
Straight off the bat, I will say that sadly the Box Office is just another HD media player like the dozens and dozens already out on the market that make use of the Realtek chipset and similar software. It does become rather tedious continually looking at media players, which include the same functionality and include the same type of menu systems and setup options, but has Patriot done anything to stand out here?

MSI P55M-GD45 Motherboard
http://ixbtlabs.com/articles3/mainboard/msi-p55m-gd45-i55p-p1.html
Today we shall review the microATX motherboard P55M-GD45. Like ASRock P55M Pro, it’s a very inexpensive board, but not ultrabudget. Modern microATX solutions for Socket 1156 are mostly mid-end boards which trade some expansion slots for compact size. What concerns peculiarities of this model from MSI, we can only mention the power supply system. But let’s not put the cart before the horse.
Trendnet TEW-649UB Mini Wireless N
http://www.bcchardware.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8004&Itemid=40
Today we are looking at a little product from Trendnet that makes upgrading your laptop to 802.11n quite unobtrusive. If you’re laptop has an older 802.11b (11Mbps) or 802.11g (54Mbps) wireless connection, the TEW-649UB from Trendnet can help bring your laptop or desktop PC in the realm of 802.11n (300Mbps). While most USB-based networking solutions are a little bulky, the solution we have on the bench from Trendnet today doesn’t fall into this category at all. As you’ll see in a bit, the size of the TEW-649UB is very small and we’ll find out if the performance is equally minimalistic or if it compensates for its physical shortcomings.
SpongeBob Truth or Square for Nintendo Wii
http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/spongebob-truth-or-square-for-nintendo-wii/
Up on the review block today I’ve got SpongBob Truth or Square for the Nintendo Wii. Yes I already reviewed SpongeBob for the Xbox360, but the Wii version is a bit different. The Wii versions is actually a lot more fun to play since you get to use the Wii controls making it more interactive than just sitting there with a controller in your hand and hitting buttons. It’s the Wii so the graphics aren’t comparable to the Xbox360 version, but it makes up for the graphics in overall fun.
Xigmatek Dragoon and Cuirassier Memory Heat Spreaders
http://tech-reviews.co.uk/reviews/xigmatek-dragoon-and-cuirassier-memory-heat-spreaders/
Memory cooling is one of those things that most people leave untouched. There may be several reasons for this: the foremost being that the stock heat spreaders on most memory modules will be sufficient for most user’s needs. But occasionally, there will of course be users who need to push their memory to the limit – particularly overclockers and gaming enthusiasts. These users will therein need some hardcore cooling for their precious RAM. With that in mind I introduce you to the Xigmatek Dragoon and Cuirassier heat spreaders.
The Best Google Android Apps
http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/the-best-google-android-apps/
When T-Mobile launched the very first Android-powered handset – the G1 – back in 2008, the app library to go along with it looked like a minimart beside Apple’s Walmart. But the past few months have been kind to Google. The recent release of several new high-profile Androids handsets like the Motorola Droid, HTC Hero and Motorola Cliq have turned that initial drizzle of apps into a torrent. Now with over 10,000 apps and counting, Google’s Android Marketplace offers applications for just about everything – sometimes making it difficult to choose. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up our favorites in several different categories to give new users a rough guide to getting the most from their phones, and experienced users a heads up on some apps they may be missing out on.

http://www.bayreviews.com/electronics/281-samsung-bdp3600-bluray-player
I bought this Samsung BD-P3600 Blu-Ray player because I wanted to stream movies and TV shows from my Netflix account. It was a little expensive but I couldn’t wait any long to get it. This is my first Blu-Ray player and also my first Netflix player.

Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Studio Headphones Review
http://tech.tbreak.com/2009/12/beats-by-dre-studio-headphone-review/
Andre Romelle Young, aka Dr. Dre may not be able to tout a medical degree as part of his many accomplishments but when it comes to producing music, the man is a legend. Not content with producing top beats for the likes of Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent and Eminem, the CEO of Aftermath Entertainment has launched his own series of headphones called Monster Beats by Dr. Dre.
Thermaltake EVO_Blue 750W Modular Power Supply Review
http://www.thinkcomputers.org/thermaltake-evo-blue-750w-modular-power-supply-review/
Thermaltake’s cases are usually quite flashy, but its power supplies have been traditionally pretty standard black boxes. There are a few which break this mold, and the Evo Blue series is one of them. ThinkComputers got its hands on the 75oW version for review. The Evo Blue features modular cables and color-changing LEDs in addition to great cooling and a more attractive design. The review is here.

http://www.xtremecomputing.co.uk/review.php?id=498
For this review I will be looking at a new power supply from a company that was once better known for its cooling solutions than power supplies, this is changing now though. The company is Nexus and the power supply I will be looking at for this review is the 530watt NX-5000 R3.

http://www.elitebastards.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1059&catid=13&Itemid=27
More specifically, today we’ll be shifting our focus to XFX’s Radeon HD 5850 Black Edition, which follows this particular AIB’s usual practice of sticking with a reference cooling solution, but making significant changes to core and memory clocks to boost performance as far as possible. Just how much of a benefit can this Black Edition part offer against a standard Radeon HD 5850? That’s what we’re here to find out, so read on if you want to see for yourself.
