Yeah yeah, I know – I missed a couple days. You’ll probably survive. Let’s recap what’s been talked about over the past few days, then move on to some other stuff. We have a few more reviews of mediocre Nintendo DS titles, some software applications, and of course, a whole bunch of hardware. There are even some headsets and audio devices in there, which is great, as it seems we’ve been bombarded with talk about motherboards and processors above anything lately.
I also have a feeling there is a lot of good stuff ahead for next week, so stay tuned and I’ll hook you up with links to everything you could ever want to read about.
But, so that you don’t have a mile-long post to read thanks to my multi-day negligence, I’m going to break things up a bit and give you a few. Check them out!

Challenge Me: Brain Puzzles – Nintendo DS
Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/challenge-me-brain-puzzles-nintendo-ds/
Review Blurb: “Puzzle games are one of those surprising genres that have seen mainstream success. There are dozens of great titles out there that challenge your brain, get you thinking, and digitally upgrade age-old puzzles that people used to do in activity books or on the back of the Sunday paper. The genre has pulled in one of the widest audiences of any genre, as puzzles appeal to young and old, gamers and recreational players alike. Nearly anyone can appreciate the challenges posed by the intrinsic complexity of a puzzle. Thus, a good number of game companies have tried their hand at creating a successful puzzle title to add to their lineups. Like any bandwagon titles, some are cheap copycats and some attempt to improve on the titles that stimulated the bandwagon in the first place.â€

Challenge Me: Math Workout – Nintendo DS
Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/challenge-me-maths-workout-nintendo-ds/
Review Blurb: “Ahhh, logic games. The DS is full of them, and the bandwagon is led by strong offerings like Brain Age. As with any successful niche, other companies have been trying their hand at developing enjoyable edutainment. I recently took a look at Challenge Me: Brain Puzzles by Oxygen Games. While it had some solid elements, it left me wanting more than two puzzles and a horrendous lack of explanation. The other game in the series, Challenge Me: Math Workout, is what we have to take a look at today.â€

Mionix Alioth 320 Mousepad
Link: http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/review/mionix-alioth-320-mousepad/
Review Blurb: “Last week I looked at the Mionix Saiph 1800 Gaming Mouse, this week I’m taking a look at one of their mousepads, the Alioth 320. Mouse and mousepad go together and why not use both from the same company right, it only makes sense to use both as they should compliment each other. The number 320 in the name is the largest dimension of the pad or 320mm, about 13 inches, so it’s a rather small pad, but that’s not a bad thing. The Alioth 320 is nicely made cloth pad, with a great design, and it offers a slick surface to use your mouse on.â€

Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum Reviewed
Link: http://igadgetlife.com/2009/09/12/wondershare-dvd-ripper-platinum-reviewed/
Review Blurb: “Today I’m back with the 4th in this series of video converting and ripping programs that will let you take your video with you on the iPod. This one is called Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum and it’s the most expensive one yet, coming in at $39 for it. Having a high price though might not be a bad thing if the program worked well and offered good features. Wondershare is fast, easy to use, and it does give the user the ability to crop, add effects and even watermark the final video, but is that all worth the price?â€

YUBZ Magnum Bluetooth Speakers

Review Blurb: “More and more devices have Stereo Bluetooth support and this makes products like Bluetooth stereo headphones and stereo speakers more popular. We’ve look at a few stereo Bluetooth products in the past including the Jabra BT620s Headphones/Headset as well as the BlueAnt M1 Speakers.  Today we are looking at a product from YUBZ that has all the features of a Bluetooth hands-free kit and throws in some stereo audio capability as well. The Magnum speakers work with non-Bluetooth devices as well.â€

ASUS P6T SE X58 i7 Motherboard Review
Link: http://tech-reviews.co.uk/reviews/asus-p6t-se-x58-i7-motherboard-review/
Review Blurb: “ASUS and a few other motherboard manufacturers cottoned onto the crisis hardware enthusiasts were experiencing and decided to shred features that many users didn’t need from their top-end motherboards in order to make more affordable versions. This opened a new window of opportunity for enthusiasts to migrate from their current systems to the performance driven i7/X58 combinations without breaking the bank.â€

Steel Series Siberia Full-Size headset
Link: http://lanoc.org/reviews/steel-series-siberia-full-size-headset/
Review Blurb: “It wasn’t that long ago that I took a close look at the Steel Series Siberia Neckband headset. My complaints almost all came from the neckband holding the headset up. Steel Series does make a Siberia headset that has a standard headband. Today I have the chance to test it out, and to spice things up a little bit this one is bright red, If my wife’s excitement is any indication the Siberia Full-Size headset should be nice.â€

ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 1080p HD Media Player Video Review
Review Blurb: “The O!Play HDP-R1 is actually very similar to the Astone Media Gear AP-100 1080p Media Player that we video reviewed last month. Physically on the outside they look entirely different, but internally the hardware and chips used are basically identical. We weren’t terribly impressed with the Astone AP-100; can ASUS do a better job at impressing us with the HDP-R1?â€

Silverstone Strider 600W Power Supply
Review Blurb: “The unit we are reviewing today comes from their Strider Series and is rated at 600 watt which is more than enough to run the average system. The strider series power supplies are noted for the affordability and great performance and as a matter of fact is says just that on the cover of the power supply. Come on along as we subject it to some heavy duty testing and we will see just tight then voltages are and whether it ends up being a recommended item.â€

INTEL I7-870 SOCKET 1156 LYNNFIELD PROCESSOR
Link: http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/intel_i7-870_lynnfield_processor_review/
Review Blurb: “Well, first of all, current coding for games and day to day tasks weren’t yet touching the capability of Intel’s current Core 2 or Core 2 Quad and a lot of consumer’s knew that there system didn’t need an upgrade. Sure if they upgraded, they would have a faster system, but would it be noticeable? And would the cost difference be really worth it?â€

Galaxy GeForce GTX 295 Single PCB Overclocked Graphics Card
Review Blurb: “When we discovered that the GTX 295 was going to get the Galaxy treatment, it was hard to not get excited. Considering the tough economic times as well, we’re finding that most companies are concentrating on mid-range models that offer better bang for buck.â€
