MTV and Big Stage Entertainment today launched a pretty unique campaign called “Be A Jackass.” This rather odd but clever campaign allows everyday folks to superimpose themselves into Jackass stunts. Thus, you can finally see yourself performing some of the dumb things that Johnny Knoxville and clan do, but without all the pain.
Logging into the system, you create your own “@actor,” aka YOU in the film. You can name your actor and set their gender, and choose which favorite Jackass clip you’d like to enter. It also forces you to choose hair for yourself, so apparently your real hair is out. This site is a free promotion and anything you create can be shared across all social networking platforms.
Here’s mine…
From MTV and BigStage’s official press release:
“For years, MTV has insisted that fans of jackass ‘not to try these stunts at home,’†said David Gale, Executive Vice President of MTV New Media. “Finally, we can let them try jackass stunts right from the comfort of their own homes … virtually, of course. The audience that loves their jackass also loves technology, and we are pleased to bring them a groundbreaking (as opposed to a neck-breaking) way to combine those two passions.”
By allowing the audience to be the “star†in connected content, Big Stage Entertainment’s BackStage product lets clients create branded media experiences and viral campaigns that drive reach, relevance and engagement. BackStage allows visitors to a brand’s website to create animated 3-D versions of themselves, called @ctors. The @ctor can then be instantly accessorized with hairstyles, eyeglasses, shirts, hats, and more, and inserted into content such as video clips, commercials, trailers, games, motion comics and posters. The content can then be shared with friends, family and colleagues through email, embeds and social networking tools.

More Choices Available for Cloud and Dense Computing Environments with New Six-Core AMD Opteron EE Processor
AMD today announced the immediate availability of the new Six-Core AMD Opteron™ EE processor at 40W ACP. Delivering up to 31 percent higher performance-per-watt over standard Quad-Core AMD Opteron processors¹, the Six-Core AMD Opteron EE processor is tailored to meet the demands of customers who need strong performance, but must trim out every watt possible in a server system and reduce the datacenter’s power draw.
Many customers requiring this very low power processor deploy dense, large-scale IT projects where system power trumps raw performance and every watt of power savings can have significant positive impact on the bottom line.
AMD offers a wide range of energy-efficient processors; customers now have 15 low and very low power server processor choices available.
All of AMD’s low power processors are fully-featured and available with the same AMD Virtualization (AMD-V™) technology and AMD-P features for advanced virtualization and power savings capability as standard power versions.
This 40W ACP processor is currently being integrated in custom solutions programs and will be available from system builders for cloud and Web 2.0 customers where density and low power are key considerations.
“It’s important for our industry to look at how technology is being used and where customers have emerging needs,†said Patrick Patla, vice president and general manager, Server and Workstation Division. “The AMD Opteron EE processor enables OEMs to deliver energy-sipping servers that don’t compromise on power management, virtualization or performance features. It is specifically designed to help address the challenges that are generating a great deal of discussion these days – building and running very dense data centers for Web services, while doing more with less.â€
Review Blurb: “One thing I like very much about the Saiph 1800 is that there are seven levels of sensitivity that can be easily and quickly access by the buttons on the top. The defaults worked fine for me, but you can go in and fine tune each one from 400DPI up to 1800DPI.â€

Title: Thermaltake Max4 3.5â€â€™ SATA HDD Rack reviewed at DragonSteelMods
Review Blurb: “Today for review I’ve got the Thermaltake Max4 3.5″ SATA HDD Rack which is the kind of rack that I prefer, it does not use a tray, all you do is put the hard drive in, close the door and you’re done. The Max4 isn’t really fancy, no LCD display on it, no built-in cooling fan, it’s basic and simple, which is nice as you don’t have to worry about parts breaking down or failing on you. Though since it doesn’t have a fan one might worry about its ability to keep your hard drive cool, you don’t have to, I’ve found that it works just as well as a rack that does have a fan built in. Read on to learn more about an excellent choice for an HDD rack that’s simple and easy to use…â€
Review Blurb: “WinX DVD ripper though is not a bad choice if you’re looking for a free program to convert your movies from DVD to a format that you can easily move from device to device. It allows for transferring to several formats, and you can change the output size as well.â€

Title: MusicSkins for 13†MacBook Laptops reviewed at TestFreaks
Review Blurb: “My laptop is cooler than your laptop. Sure, we both have 13†laptop computers. Sure, mine is pretty worn out, has paint fading and a chunk is missing here and there. But mine is no longer pure white, no longer blending into the crowd with every other identical laptop out there. Thanks to MusicSkins, my MacBook and I have style.â€

Title: Genius EasyPen i405 4†x 5.5†Graphics Tablet reviewed at DragonSteelMods
Review Blurb: “Up on the review block today I’ve got the Genius EasyPen i405 4†x 5.5†Graphic Tablet, and by the dimensions we see there it’s pretty small, but that doesn’t mean it’s not useful and a fairly decent product. The EasyPen i405 works well, and includes a nice suite of software that can be useful to anyone for personal or business related applications. The pad itself features 28 programmable function keys and the pen has two buttons that can act just like your mouse buttons, so you could replace your mouse with the pen if need be. So read on to learn more about the EasyPen i405…â€
