Title: NZXT Whisper Classic Series PC Case @ DragonSteelMods

Review Link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12874&Itemid=1

Review Snipit:
” Besides being very quiet, the Whisper case also provides maximum room for expansion.  In addition it has room for nine hard drives and six 5.25” bays.  Silent operation and roominess are not the only features of the Whisper; NZXT also threw in plenty of cooling with four fans.  Two 120 mm and two 80 mm fans will help keep the system running cool and quiet.”

Title: NZXT BETA Classic Series PC Case @ TestFreaks

Quote:
“A few days ago I took a look at the NZXT Guardian  921 PC case, today I’ve got another from NZXT as well, the Beta. The Beta chassis is meant to be more of a budget case, coming in at around $50, but it’s got features of more expensive cases and overall it’s a very nice case. The Beta features a tool-less installation for the optical and hard drives, enough room for four fans to keep things cool, and it’s very aesthetically pleasing. So without further chatter from me, read on to learn more about an excellent case from NZXT… ”

Quote:
” What I have for review today is something that could make your life a bit easier and maybe even save you a little money in the process. It’s a combo pack or two pack of electrical outlets, what’s so special about these is they are remote controlled  to make ‘flipping the switch’ that much easier.”

Title:  Corsair HX850 850W PSU Review

Summary: It seems an eternity since the last time Corsair released a modular power supply in their high performance HX line of units, and there has been a good deal of speculation around the net on when Corsair was going to finally release something in the 750W-850W range to better compete with the likes of the Seasonic M12D and Antec Signature units at that level.

Well, the waiting is over because Corsair is releasing two new units at 750W and 850W to fill the void. Today, I’m looking at the larger of the two units in the HX850.

For a bike messenger named Cole, his day and life are about to be turned upside down thanks to a mysterious package he is assigned to deliver. The package turns out to be a bomb of incredible power which turns Cole?s home of Empire City into utter destruction and chaos.

In the new game InFamous, Sucker Punch Productions and Sony have crafted a slick and utterly compelling action adventure which is easily one of the top titles released for any console.

Luxa LM100 Mini Case Review

Date: 06-13-2009 By Elric Phares

This system left me feeling a bit different than I anticipated in the beginning of this review. I know that the LUXA LM100 is designated as an HTPC chassis, but in that aspect I think it does not really fit the bill as the motherboard selection for this size system is very limited and most only have standard PC audio connections. Sound is a very important aspect of an HTPC system as it’s usually what you watch your movies and listen to your music on, and not having an SPDIF or Digital Coaxial connection leaves the system absent of one of the most important things about the whole HTPC experience.

Gigabyte MA-790FXT UD5P Motherboard Review

Author: Benjamin Sun Date: 06-13-2009

From a platform point of view the Gigabyte MA790FXT-UD5P motherboard fits the bill as a motherboard that supports AMD’s latest CPUs on the AM3 platform including the 810 we used for this review. Features-wise this board has all of the features that an enthusiast will want from a new AM3 motherboard except for one. For those expecting to run three or four ATI cards in CrossfireX mode will be disappointed as this board only has two PCI Express x16 slots but that is not the target audience of this board.

With a 15 year long absence from Nintendo?s consoles, many gamers completely wrote Punch Out!! off as an oldschool game. The series was a hit during the NES era remembered by virtually any owner, spawned a well received sequel during the SNES era — then it just disappeared. It missed out on the N64?s time in homes, and also called in sick for Gamecube duty.

Thankfully, with Nitnendo?s desire to revive old franchises, Punch Out!! was finally set to rise from the ashes. While nothing much has changed in the core gameplay since the 1987 original, the game does its job blending the nostalgia from over a decade ago with mainstream gaming to entertain you. It?s a good game and does the name justice-even if it?s for a short while.

TITLE: Antec CP-850 Power Supply Review @ Vortez Hardware

DESCRIPTION:

“The PSU is in my honest opinion THE most important component in a PC. It’s the beating heart that every bit of hardware in a computer relies on. Finding a high quality, quiet and dependable supply is the holy grail of any PC build. Antec have sent their CP-850 PSU for review so hopefully it will do well.”

Title: Glacialtech X-Wing Notebook Cooler Review @ Virtual-Hideout

Review link: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/Glacialtech_X-Wing_NB_Cooler/index.shtml

Quote: “Overall the Glacialtech X-Wing Notebook Cooler is an undisputed winner in the looks department, however not so much in the cooling department. The quality of the build and innovative features built-in to the front panel make it very user friendly. Unfortunately because of the lack of cooling power, it’s very hard for me to recommend this. I just know that geeks with gaming laptops love lights and gadgets and they’ll be wanting to add this under their hot laptops. However it would do little good. The cooling power is anemic. My suggestion to Glacialtech would be to dramatically beef up the cooling system with something like a large, quiet 200mm fan centered in the unit.”

The specs sounds very good and I’m expecting some great performance from this SSD. With 64Mb of cache and a new controller, OCZ’s Vertex Series 120Gb SSD should produce some excellent results in our benchmarks. Incidently, we’ll be using two of these drives in RAID 0 configuration for our CPU3D HydroBox project  … H2O3D.

NEW CONTENT (HTPC & Movies) – Twilight HD Movie Review

QUOTE: “In all my 23 years I’ve seen a few crazes come and go. However, I have never seen anything so precisely bullseye the cultural zeitgeist quite like the Twilight franchise. Spawned from the book series written by Stephanie Meyer, Twilight has gone on to become a commercial force to be reckoned with, encompassing further sequels, toys, posters, jewellery and has made the stars household names, with teenage girls swooning at their very utterance.

Twilight is, at its core, a forbidden romance tale, similar to Romeo and Juliet but mixed with the carnal pleasure of attractive vampires and with a little new millennium twist for good measure. When Bella Swan (Kirsten Stewart) moves to the small town of Forks, she quickly garners the attention of local Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), the 108 year old vampire whom doesn’t age. While they fall in love, the complications of their relationship become evident, notwithstanding his inbuilt predilection for human blood and the not so nice vampires whom also roam.”

Not that CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) really needs any additional hype, but the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) wants to make sure that even with CES half a year away, that the media and analysts never forget their  technology extravaganza is on the horizon. The CEA sponsored a mini tradeshow in New York City this last week, called the CEA LineShows.

We decided that this would be a good opportunity to not only potentially learn about new products and technologies, but it would also be great real-world test for the Flip UltraHD pocket camcorder we recently reviewed. So we grabbed the camcorder and headed over to the show.
