Title: Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 Toxic Vapor-X @ Phoronix
Direct Link: http://www.phoronix.com/vr.php?view=12948
Summary: “The ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card arrived back in June with same-day Linux support through the Catalyst driver and there was even open-source mode-setting support. We have been very pleased with the level of Linux support for the Radeon HD 4000 series and it continues with features such as UVD2 and XvMC out on the horizon. With a few months having passed since the release of the Radeon HD 4870, we are starting to see more innovative RV770 products from ATI’s partners. In August we looked at the Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 Toxic, which was a factory-overclocked Radeon HD 4850. Today we are looking at the Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 Toxic, which takes the original Radeon HD 4870 to the next level with heightened frequencies and an exclusive Vapor-X cooling solution.”

I4U NEWS published a review of the Crysis Warhead PC Game.
Quote from the review:
“Today we are checking out Crysis Warhead, the second installment in the Crysis Franchise. The game is fantastic, offering up great gameplay, good graphics, and loads of customization.
Crysis was one of the most popular shooters of 2007 and it had some of the best graphics ever seen on a PC video game. In fact, the graphics were so good the vast majority of existing gaming computers had no hope of running Crysis with all the eye candy turned on at high resolutions. Today we are taking a look at the second installment of the Crysis franchise called Crysis Warhead. Is it as good as the original? Read on to find out.”

TITLE: Palit GeForce 9800 GT Super+ 1GB Video Card @ Benchmark Reviews
DESCRIPTION: It’s a great time for those in the market for a new video card, in just a few short months we’ve seen the debuts of over half a dozen different boards. At the high-end, high-priced segment Benchmark Reviews has showcased such great offerings from NVIDIA as the GTX 280 and ATI/AMD’s HD 4870×2, while at the other end of the spectrum the mainstream budget cards releases are almost too plentiful and mediocre to mention. This brings us to today’s review of the mid-range Palit GeForce 9800 GT Super+ 1GB video card NE/9800TXT302 from NVIDIA. In the recent clamor of releases NVIDIA has quietly slipped in the 9800 GT, seemingly from nowhere and without much publicity.

NEW CONTENT (Storage) - Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB 2.5″ 7200 RPM Hard Disk
QUOTE: “Solid State Drives (SSDs) continue to dominate the headlines and press releases, but for many users any leap to solid state is nothing more than a leap back. With most notebooks coming standard with 80 to 250GB drives, it is difficult for many to consider a 32 or 64GB SSD that costs anywhere from 100 to 800 USD. For most users capacity is still king and this is one area where solid state just doesn’t hold data.
Western Digital has taken their Scorpio line in two directions, Scorpio Blue, a 5400 RPM drive and Scorpio Black, a desktop replacement 7200 RPM drive. The Scorpio Black has a feature set that rivals many of today’s desktop drives and has the capacity to go with it.”

“One of the perks of my job is getting to look at some of the coolest new computer and consumer electronics, often times before they are even released to the public. There were several new and exciting products on display, from cases and power supplies to new CPU and GPU cooling solutions. Today we will be taking a look at one of the CPU coolers we saw on display, known simply as the V8..“

Article Name: Thermaltake V9 Gaming Case Review @ Tweaknews.net
Article Url: http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/thermaltake_v9/
Article Snippet:
“Well, Thermaltake’s V9 gaming case is a mixed bag. The aesthetics I like a lot, and the cooling performance should support even the most demanding gaming hardware. The fans move a lot of air and are quiet enough to satisfy the vast majority of gaming enthusiasts. There are, however, some issues with the V9 that prospective buyers should be aware of. Personally, I think fit and finish is a very important aspect of a chassis review. As I mentioned earlier, I really like the finish; the fit, not so much.”

Title: Cooler Master Hyper Z600 CPU cooler review
http://www.modreactor.com/english/Reviews/cooler-master-hyper-z600-cpu-cooler-review.html
Brief: When you’re looking for a silent cooler for your high-end PC
or you want to overclock your CPU to it’s maximum sooner or later
you’ll find yourself buying an expensive water based cooling system or
a huge heat pipe cooler. In these days coolers like these are becoming
easier to find. Some brands are a bit more interesting to the
consumers though, because of their high availability, good reputation
and balanced price (if possible), and that’s the case with Cooler
Master and their new cooler Hyper Z600, which very recently became
available.

Title:Monster Beats Headphones by Dr. Dre Reviewed @ TheTechLounge
Quote:
“As you can probably guess from the rather interesting name, Monster teamed up with Dr. Dre to get some celebrity name recognition for this new offering. I’m not so sure Dr. Dre would be the first person to pop into mind when thinking of audiophile priced headphones, but he is in the recording industry and should be instantly recognizable to anyone slightly familiar with the Rap/Hip-Hop scene nonetheless. Let’s get past the names involved here, though, and see if the Beats are truly worthy of your hard-earned cash.”

| ATI Radeon HD 4350 versus EVGA GeForce 9400GT |
 |
Author: Benjamin Sun Date: 10-13-2008
The ATI Radeon HD 4350 is an excellent card for the HTPC crowd. The ability to fit the card into a half height bay means It will fit into most cases without issue. The ability to run 7.1 HDMI Audio is a definite plus as the card can play audio without an audio card or even onboard audio. The ability to do full-screen Blu-Ray playback smoothly on the graphics chip is also a big plus. The 9400GT is more of a gamers’ card than the ATI card. Its performance is higher across the board but again it becomes a matter of what do you want from a discrete graphics card. Do you want a card that plays the games with the highest resolution and settings? Then you’d be better off buying a more expensive card as the game play experience would be much more enjoyable. If you’re a casual gamer that is looking to improve on the mediocre Intel integrated graphics then this is the card for you if you have $40 to spend.
