News - Zalman CNPS 9300AT review at Overclockers Online

Title: Zalman CNPS 9300AT review at Overclockers Online
Link: http://www.overclockersonline.net/?page=articles&num=2031
Quote: While Zalman’s CNPS9300 AT certainly isn’t going to dethrone any
of the top performance heatsinks, it is a very capable heatsink in a
smaller frame than its older siblings. Installation is simple as long as
you are used to removing the motherboard for Intel boards. Operation of
the heatsink even at high speeds was quiet for me, though the amount of
noise for something being silent can vary from application to
application, however I wouldn’t see the 9300 AT being a problem in a
HTPC.

Imation Apollo 500GB 2.5″ Portable Hard Drive

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

A few days ago I took a look at a Verbatim 160GB 2.5″ portable hard drive and I found it to be a decent little product, but today I’ve got the Imation Apollo 500GB 2.5″ portable hard drive for review. The Apollo is well made, looks nice, is small and portable and actually averages out to be less expensive per gigabyte when compared to others out there.

So read on to learn more about a great little portable hard drive…

Nyko Blu-Wave Remote

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

The PS3 is one of the most powerful gaming consoles ever made. It is also one of the best Blu-Ray players available. In fact, it is the reference player for the folks at Criterion Collection – link. The PS3 is also an upconverting DVD player, making regular DVDs look spectacular on HDTVs. Unfortunately, the PS3 uses Bluetooth instead or IR or RF for controller signal input. This makes using universal controllers such as the Logitech Harmony line impossible. Now if you have a high end home theater set up, then having to use a PS3 Sixaxis or Dual Shock remote as your BluRay remote is rather undesirable. Nyko has released the Blu-Wave remote which is a USB Dongle/IR remote setup which allows the use of a remote control with the PS3 instead of using a game controller. Another additional feature for the Blu-Wave is its compatibility with the Logitech Harmony remote series.

Lian Li Ps-a750gb Powersupply Review @ Rbmods

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

Lian Li Ps-a750gb Powersupply Review:

Link: http://www.rbmods.com/Articles/LianLi/Ps-a750gb/1.php

Quote: Now if I asked you guys what Lian Li is most famous for you would probably say aluminum cases which is true; but Lian Li have also been making high quality power supplies for quite some time. Todays test victim is a PS-a750gb PSU from them that we are going to test vs a few high performing units that we have reviewed in the past. This unit though has some nice features like 120 mm fan with smart fan control, PCI-E connectors with bead core protection etc.

J&W X48D2-EXTREME Motherboard

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

NEW CONTENT (Motherboards) - J&W X48D2-EXTREME Motherboard

QUOTE: “Today we have our very first J&W motherboard based around the Intel X48 chipset. No big surprise here on the choice of chipset due to its maturity and presence as an enthusiast oriented piece of kit. But how well does it compare to the likes of the even newer P45 based offerings? Let’s find out.

Todays testing consists of the GIGABYTE EP45 Extreme and the ASUS P5Q motherboards which are based on the P45 chipset. Unfortunately we didn’t have any X48 DDR2 boards on hand to do tests with. However, looking at how well J&W have put this board together, we decided to see just how well the board can go against the new contender chipset, which is where J&W is aiming this board; a cheaper X48 with all the goodies.”

Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Case Review @ OCIA.net

October 3rd, 2008 by Kristofer

OCIA.net has posted their review of the Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower Case.  Below is a direct quote from the review:
Such begins the introduction for Cooler Master’s latest full tower design, the HAF 932. HAF stands for High Air Flow, which seems to be the driving force behind this case structure, with three 230mm fans plus another 140mm fan pre-installed. The entire front of the chassis consists of open mesh from top to bottom, and additional use of large openings in the side, top and rear.
