ATP Petito Pink Ribbon Edition 1gb USB Drive

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

Today for review I’ve got a special product, and well this really isn’t a review as much as letting you know about something great that a company is doing to help people with cancer, specifically breast cancer.  I personally know one person that has it and I’m sure everyone out there knows of someone as well, and as with any cancer, it’s serious, and any help or attention it can get is a good thing, especially from large companies that are in a better position to donate funds to research for a cure. ATP also has a program to giveaway Petito USB Drives to those who submit stories about their bouts with breast cancer as well

So today I’ve got the Petito Pink Ribbon Edition 1gig USB drive from ATP. ATP sent me the drive to review it and to let people know about their program of donating 10% of all sales of the Pink Petito to the Susan G Komen for the Cure and the fight against breast cancer. The Petito is a great little USB drive, it’s tiny, waterproof, dustproof, ESD proof and shock resistant as well, overall it’s a great little drive that can also help do something good for people.

Aerocool Modern-V Fan Controller Review

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

More than 7 years ago, the first fan controller review was published on the ocinside.de hardware portal.
When you compare the older Digital Doc 5 fan controller with the current Aerocool Modern-V,
it is easy to see one big difference, because especially the design of the new LCD panel is much more beautiful.
Let us see if the operation, technology and price of the Aerocool Modern-V fan controller is also recommendable.

CPU3D Review: ECS A790GXM-A Motherboard

ECS have just released their A790GXM-A Motherboard, which features AMD’s 790GX IGP Northbridge and SB750 Southbridge. It’s aimed at the mainstream market for gamers on a budget.

“…  If you’re after an affordable motherboard for the AM2/AM2+ platform that’s pretty feature-rich, then look no further. It offers decent performance for a mainstream motherboard, at price worth considering. ”

Turtle Beach EarForce X4 XBOX 360 Wireless Headset Reviewed @ TheTechLounge

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

Title:
Turtle Beach EarForce X4 XBOX 360 Wireless Headset Reviewed @ TheTechLounge

Quote:
“Turtle Beach’s X4 wireless gaming headset is a great way to tap the enormous console market.  Wireless headset?  Playing video games in the living room at night without bothering anyone?  Sign me up! Wirelessness isn’t the best thing for audiophiles, but gamers [and perhaps more importantly, the people around them] are willing to sacrifice some things for a little convenience.  Honestly, what’s a little signal noise against a backdrop of orchestral gunfire.  On top of that, the competition is a little weak.  The mic that comes with the 360 is uncomfortable, ugly, and above all, it isn’t a headset.  It’s got one Walkman-class scratchy plastic earphone with limited flexibility and added discomfort to make you avoid online gaming.  Turtle Beach, with all their experience and wisdom, is right to make a quality headset that not only slides right into place with a 360, but also any other analog input you care to sport around your ears.  This isn’t their first set of 360 cans, so the X4s have big shoes to fill.”

Playit3D: EA’s Facebraker Review

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

Playit3D: EA’s Facebraker Review

FaceBreaker is EA’s effort to bring us back to some of the best boxing titles in the genre..

“…  FaceBreaker features a bare roster of interesting boxers, each with their own unique personalities and special moves. They all follow a certain archetype, and include British DJ, a Latin fruit, a Jack Black-esque ninja master, and so on. There are 12 boxers in total (not counting the custom crop of facially imported fighters) , as well as the ability to create your own character, determining their fighting style and look, and even use your Xbox LIVE Vision Camera to import your face into the game to get broken. ”

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard Review

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

I4U NEWS published a review of the new Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.

Quote from the review:
“Today we are looking at the new Logitech Illuminated Keyboard. The keyboard is the first from Logitech that is backlit and not aimed at gamers.

The first thing you notice about the keyboard is how thin it is. The 9.3 mm profile makes for a very flat and comfortable typing position. The PerfectStroke key system provides one of the best keyboards for typing I have ever used. The keys are very responsive, have great travel, and offer a slight click when pressed. Overall tactile feel is excellent. The typing feel is so good that the Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is now the only keyboard I type on.”

Samsung F400 Bang & Olufsen Music Phone

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

NEW CONTENT (Mobile) - Samsung F400 Bang & Olufsen Music Phone

QUOTE: “Now, phones aren’t usually my forte, but when Samsung asked if I wanted to review their new MP3 spouting mini-boom box of a phone, I couldn’t really say no. The real clincher was the Bang & Olufsen speakers embedded in the phone, which appealed to the audiophile in me.

Unpacking it from its box, we can see that what the customer demands from a phone manufacturer these days is EVERYTHING. You get much more than just a charger and a little headset; with this phone we get a beefy looking set of headphones with in-line mic, data cable, software and a 1GB MicroSD card to boot.”

101 Puppy Pets - PC Review

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

101 Puppy Pets - PC Review

Date: 09-10-2008 By Vlad As a game in itself, 101 Puppy Pets in not that impressive; just imagine the puppy version of The Sims, only much more under-funded. If I had to imagine the budget that the programmers had, I actually have to say that I’m impressed with the final product. While this game will not keep me entertained for more then just a day, a kid will look at this ten dollar purchase as a very valuable treasure. I’m not here to tell you to let your kids play video games or not to; parenting is up to you. What I can tell you is that 101 Puppy Pets is not violent, it has no bad language, as a matter of fact, it is rated E - everyone by ESRB. As a matter of fact, this game might actually teach a kid how to treat a possible future pet.

iStarUSA xAGE HDD Docking Station @ techPowerUp

September 11th, 2008 by Kristofer

Title:
iStarUSA xAGE HDD Docking Station

Link:
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/iStarUSA/xAGE-N99-US

Brief:
iStarUSA’s xAGE-N99 HDD Docking Station is a simple, easy to use hard drive dock for 2.5″ and 3.5″ internal hard disks. It utilizes most of the transfer speeds that USB 2.0 has to offer and demonstrates excellent read and write speeds with a great price/performance value. For a company that has been making server and storage products for close to twenty years, iStarUSA certainly does not dissapoint.
