USB Basketball Fidget

Posted on the August 23rd, 2008 under Product Reviews by Kristofer

Life shouldn’t be all about work, we all need time to relax and play a little, but for most people their lives revolve around working, me included, and we just don’t get much time to play and relax anymore… We should, we all should just stop and take some to to have fun, even if it’s just for a few minutes per day while we’re working. Taking time to relax and have fun not only reduces stress but can also help to clear the mind and actually help you work better…

It’s been a while since we’ve reviewed any kind of toys, and what I have today might be considered a toy or not. It’s an interesting little gadget from USBGeek called the USB Basketball Fidget and essentially what it is is a small basketball shaped button on a base that attaches via USB to your computer. There’s software included with the fidget and once installed you’ve got a cool little mini game right on your desktop to help you waste a bit of time and have fun, it’s an easy game to play, you just tap the button to stop the ball from leaving your desktop as it bounces around your screen. There’s not much to it, and there doesn’t really need to be, it’s just something to have fun with and waste a bit of time…

Micro SD / T-Flash Card Reader from USBFever

Posted on the August 23rd, 2008 under Product Reviews by Kristofer

If you’ve got a Tilt, or most any other cellphone today really, then you’ve got a microSD card in it, and to transfer data to and from it you can easily just hook your phone up to your computer via USB, but as we’ve all found out that’s not the quickest way to do things…

The solution of course for fast file transfers is to use a card reader, but I’ve noticed that it seems actual microSD card readers are in short supply, you’d think that with the popularity of them we’d see many more on the market but we don’t. Most microSD cards come with an SD adapter and that’s about it, I know ATP at one time packaged a USB microSD card reader with their cards, (it’s really nice actually, I’ve got one) but I don’t know many other companies that do that, I guess they all assume that we have the ability to read SD cards so we won’t need the reader…

Razer Piranha Gaming Headset Review @ Tweaknews.net

Article Name: Razer Piranha Gaming Headset Review @ Tweaknews.net
Article Url: http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/razer_piranha_gaming_headset_review/

Article Snippet:

“Everyone that is a gamer knows that having the freedom to game whenever you want is severely limited to who you are living with or next to. Other than some special situations, both will actively object to you disemboweling your adversary with a gattlin gun at 3am in the morning with you 5.1 speaker system at gaming volume. Because of that simple problem, gamers rely on a good set of gaming headphones to span those times where our gaming audio is not appreciated by others.”

Soul Calibur 4 – PS3 Review

Soul Calibur 4 – PS3 Review

Date: 08-21-2008 By Chris Gump

Star Wars cast aside, what you have here is a solid fighting game. Usually all a fighting game needs to be good is you, a friend, a couch, and some time to kill. Soul Calibur makes it so you don’t even have to have your friend physically sitting in the same room as you. All you need is the couch and time to kill. Fans of the series will like this game quite a bit, and newcomers can even be brought in by it. Even new players can be taken in by this game, or perhaps a player who hasn’t played any of the recent games of the series. All in all I’d say check this one out, the gameplay can be fun for hours on end, and online adds even more time to that.

Super Talent Pico-C Gold 8GB USB Flash Drive @ APH Networks

Posted on the August 23rd, 2008 under Product Reviews by Kristofer

Title: Super Talent Pico-C Gold 8GB USB Flash Drive @ APH Networks

* Description: From the initial introduction of USB flash drives to present
day, this is one innovation that changed the way people carry data around.
Back in the days of floppy drives and floppy disks with a formatted capacity
of roughly 1.38MB, to the age of CD-RWs that was never able to take
precedence as the prominent portable storage medium, and ending up to present
day’s popularity of USB flash drives — how did it all come to be? Computer
enthusiasts first embraced this new type of products years ago as a symbol of
geekiness and a sort of unashamed pride. Bringing on 16MB, 32MB, and 64MB
drives, I still vaguely remember how ‘advanced’ I was with a stunningly large
512MB SanDisk Cruzer Micro. “It’s so compact and convenient,” as we used to
call it. Times have changed, and I still remember us praising the OCZ
Mini-Kart over two years ago on how unbelievably small it is. How two years
can mean so much in the technology world! This time, however, Super Talent
makes its attempt to redefine the market of unbelievably tiny USB flash
drives with the Pico-C — but while they’re at it, they are unwilling to lose
the capacity war with the drive available up to 8GB of storage, and claims to
be a winner in performance as well. Huge ambitions? We’ll see how they live
up to that.
