Games for Windows Live Is Free At Last!
Five months ago, NGOHQ.com initiated a boycott campaign against Microsoft’s Games for Windows – Live. We were very unhappy with several issues such as: additional fees and poor world wide availability. The fact is… our boycott received a lot of exposure and support from unhappy users that were fed up with Microsoft’s attempt to bring the Xbox Live module to our beloved PC industry.
Yesterday at the GameFest 2008 conference in Seattle, Microsoft finally came to its senses and announced that Games for Windows – Live will be totally free effective immediately. That means all Live features such as TruSkill, and Cross-platform gaming is now available free to PC gamers for any titles that use these features. In addition, Microsoft also said that it’s planning to make their Live interface less bloated and more gamer friendly.
