Toshiba Satellite X305-S6845 Notebook @ HotHardware.com

Posted on the June 6th, 2008 under Product Reviews by Kristofer

Long gone are the days when the primary differentiating factors between competing laptops models were just battery life and weight.  Don’t be mistaken–battery life and weight are still important; but with so many folks now using a laptop as their only computer, laptop manufacturers have stepped up their efforts on the very look of their notebook designs, as well as piling on enough features to make you never miss a desktop PC.  Apple, of course, leads the charge with the sleek designs and user-friendly interface of its MacBook line of laptops.  Dell and Lenovo have also had success with their updated designs. Recently, long-time computer manufacturer, Toshiba, has done a complete refresh of its Satellite line of laptops, and we had the opportunity to take an in-depth look at an example of this new look and feel with the Toshiba Satellite X305-S6845.  Come on by the site and check it out…

BIOS REVIEW: I.R.I.S. IRIScan Executive 2 Portable Scanner

Posted on the June 6th, 2008 under Product Reviews by Kristofer

“I.R.I.S.’s latest portable sheetfed scanner is a compact (274×47x34mm; 360g) and well presented unit for scanning and organising a relatively wide variety of colour documents up to 215×355mm (Legal size) on the go. It’s particularly well suited to business executives needing to digitise paperwork (such as POs, invoices and receipts), but it’s equally useful for students and others who have a need for getting data from paper onto a computer.”

Quote: Enter the name you think is perfect for this new un-released heatsink in our forum thread and if chosen we will send you the heatsink and a power supply directly from Glacialtech. Heatsinks are an upgrade product for most people and having to install the motherboard backplate is a task that most of the TWL readers do not like. Glacialtech also produces some of the best power supplies we have seen to date and is working on their 80 Plus Silver line.
