USB Octopus 2.0 Cable 4-Port Hub Reviewed @ DragonSteelMods.com

February 2nd, 2008 by Kristofer

I’ve taken a look at many USB hubs big and small, but none quite like what I have today, it’s essentially a few short USB cables connected to a single cable, making it easy to attach your USB devices. It’s called the USB Octopus Cable 4-Port Hub but with the name Octopus you might think it has eight connections, but it doesn’t only four.. go figure…

Anyway, the idea behind it is to allow easy access to the connections for whatever you might want to connect to your USB ports and that it does. Normal hubs are usually square and hard, and with little space between the actual USB connections sometimes not allowing you to connect larger USB drives and other devices at the same time. This product though eliminates any space issues, and from my testing it’s very close to using a straight USB connection.

HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 TurboX

February 2nd, 2008 by Kristofer

NEW CONTENT (Visual) - HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 TurboX

QUOTE: “It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything from HIS which is a bit of a shame as their IceQ series of cards have been one of the more stand-out models of ATI based graphics cards.

As we mentioned earlier, this particular model not only carries with it an aftermarket cooler but also increased core and memory clocks.”

OCIA.net has posted their review of the OtterBox for iPhone Defender Series.  Below is a direct quote from the review:

OtterBox must have heard similar reactions from others, as they now have two distinct lines of cases for your valued electronics: The Armor Series, which is rugged to the extreme, and the Defender Series, labeled as “semi-rugged”. Today we will be looking at the latter, in the OtterBox for iPhone Defender Series.

ASRock ALiveDual-eSATA2 AMD Socket AM2 Motherboard with AGP and PCIe Reviewed

February 2nd, 2008 by Kristofer

The ASRock ALiveDual-eSATA2 Socket AM2 motherboard is an exceptional board with AMD Phenom processor support.
Well, Phenom support isn’t unusual these days, but which current motherboard offers an AGP port?
ASRock once again comes up with something special, because they make it possible
for customers to upgrade their older systems more smoothly with less money.
Thanks to the nVidia M1695 and nForce3 250 chipset combination, this board is able to
manage an AGP 8x video card or a PCI Express 16x video card.
Thus users can use their AGP card of the old PC and are able to upgrade it to a
Socket AM2 or AM2+ processor without necessarily buying a new PCIe graphics card.
This review will show if the performance can keep up with current systems and
if this AGP/PCIe motherboard offers enough additional features and high overclocking results.

Quote: We have reviewed most of Corsairs flash drives in the past and they have performed very well and been able to take a beating in our tests. Today we have a 32 GB version, yes a 32 GB version of their popular Flash Voyager drive family that we are going to take a look at. Will the bigger memory slow the drive down, and is it more sensitive to beating than the older 8 GB versions we have looked at?
